“3!..2!..1!.. Happy New Year!” Everyone can generally agree that the best part of every New Year’s Eve party is the countdown to midnight followed by champagne toasts and a New Year’s smooch. Well, if you’re lucky. My last New Year’s Eve concluded with one of my rowdy friends getting a little too excited during the countdown, prematurely popping the champagne, and pouring half the bottle on my head and the rest on the floor. But I digress. More often than not New Year’s Eve is filled with love and appreciation for the friends you’re celebrating with, a little bubbly, and hopes and anticipation for what the new year will bring. That is, unless you’re working. Bar and restaurant employees stuck working the late shifts on New Year’s Eve only get to watch others celebrate and unfortunately don’t get to partake in the festivities. Speakeasy, however, comes to rescue year after year with the Bar and Restaurant Employee New Year’s Eve Pre-Party two nights before for these busy servers to have their own new year celebration.
B.A.R.E.N.Y.E. on December 29th is a party just as exciting and fun filled as any NYE part on December 31st, and you are invited! Complete with a countdown at midnight, champagne toasts, drink specials, a balloon drop, party favors and prizes, Speakeasy’s NYE party gives Austin’s hardworking food and drink servers a chance to ring in 2011 properly and they want everyone to come join in the fun. And as this is the 10th annual Speakeasy NYE pre party, it’s bound to be bigger and better than ever!
Speakeasy is one of Austin’s most beloved venues, offering a swanky, comfortable atmosphere overflowing with 1920′s nostalgia. Great music and an even better view of downtown make this club one of the most popular hot spots in the 512. Speakeasy is also well known for their excellent parties and celebrations throughout the year and B.A.R.E.N.Y.E. has to be one of the favorites.
So come help celebrate New Year’s a few days early at Speakeasy on December 29th. The party starts at 8 pm, there’s no cover, and there will be complimentary drinks! Can’t say no to that. The talented DJ Toddy B, DJ Hoodie Allen, and DJ Abe will be serving up beats all night long to keep you on your dancing feet.
