The morning Momo’s announced it was closing it’s location on W. 6th street was a sad one indeed. Music lovers, musicians, Dennis Quaid, everyone loved Momo’s. There was always someone to go watch perform and always a table open for you to sit and enjoy a good show with your friends.
Sadly, due to the sudden news that their doors had to close, 16 Momo’s employees were left without work during the holiday season. These folks are the smiling faces that slung you drinks as you got your fill of local music each evening and who did so happily. While there’s a vast array of news that consistently reiterates how times are tough, when it hits close to home, Austin helps. Proceeds from the show will go to help former Momo’s employees cover their expenses while they are on the job hunt and help keep them here in Austin.
Included in the line-up that stepped up to the plate for one of their old, familiar venues are Little Brave, K Phillips, Meggan Carney, Jeremy Nail, Kalu James, Dan Dyer, Drew Smith, Ethan Kennedy, Boosy Cray and many, many more. It’s nice to see both venues and artists come together to help out those who made such a quintessential part of Austin’s music history happen night after night. Find out more information on the event including the full line up here. The show is this Saturday beginning at 8 pm. Get out there and show your love. What goes around comes around and hey, tip your bartender.
