G. Love & Special Sauce at La Zona Rosa

We all fell in love with Garrett “G. Love” Dutton when we first heard his syrupy single, “Baby’s Got Sauce.” It was this song’s mix of hip hop and blues that drew me to my first G. Love & Special Sauce concert and I was put further under their spell by their amazing live performance. It also helps that Dutton is brilliant harmonica player. There is something undeniably charming about a man that can play the harmonica!

G. Love has released a new album titled “Fixin’ to Die,” which maintains the band’s original meld of hip hop and gritty blues, but adds in a dash of country. This may have something to do with The Avett Brothers, who not only produced the album, but also play on several of the tracks. The result of this collaboration is the creation of dynamic and soulful songs that are hard not to dance to. So, don’t miss their show this Saturday at La Zona Rosa.
