Heavy metal band, The Sword, will be playing at Emo’s East this Saturday, April 21st along with Dixie Witch and American Sharks. These long haired, hard-rockers are straight out of the ATX and are coming up to their 10 year anniversary in 2013. With influences by Black Sabbath, Blue Cheer, and Led Zeppelin you know these guys will put on an insane show.
In March 2009 The Sword won two local music awards: the High Times Doobie Award and the Austin Music Award for Best Metal Artist. For another fun fact: a few of their songs have been featured on the game where people spend endless hours trying to master the art of the five button instrument, guitar hero.
Recently signed to New York-based label Razor & Tie, the band has big plans for a fourth album with a projected release in late 2012. On the rise, the time has definitely come for The Sword and they are ready to rock your face off.
To sum it up with a quote from Do512′s Kristin. ” They are epic.”
