Let’s start a riot with the LA Riots! Before you get any devious thoughts and ideas, I’m not talking about recreating the devastating Los Angeles Riots of the ’90s. However, let’s redirect all that mob violence into mob…moshing!
The LA Riots were formed on the 15th anniversary of the Los Angeles Riots in 1992. Their band name is no coincidence. They named themselves LA Riots in order to portray their well composed defiant and vigorous sound.
LA Riots is a band that uniquely blends Indie Rock, Alternative Dance, and Electronic music in a ribald manner. They invented a sound that integrated a bumpin’ drum and bass, house music, and a techno sound. Similarly to any other DJ-based band, they maintained their underground reputation and credibility, while simultaneously remixing high-profile pop songs, such as Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way.”
The band has toured with The Crystal Method and MSTRKRFT and have made appearances in the ULTRA Music Festival, Electric Zoo, the Pukklepop Festival, and Lollapalooza. At the 2012 Winter Music Conference, Beatport named the LA Riots as “Break Out Stars.” From features to awards to having a #1 Billboard Remix, the LA Riots have had incredible years of success.
LA Riots has a distinctive sound that you don’t want to miss out on. This DJ duo has built up a well-deserved fan base. Head out to the show to see the band live for yourself! Join the crowd, jump to the beat, create a mosh pit, and #StartARiot! No need to trust reviews when your ear drums can experience the music mixin’ and beat thumpin’ for themselves.
