Buckingham has been a musical legend since the ’70s and has been making solo music since 1981. What’s different about his music now is that he’s free from the “big-record-company” stuff. After thirty years, the dude decided that Warner Bros. wasn’t who he wanted to make music for anymore, so he broke-up with them and put out his newest album, Seeds We Sow, on his own. Lindsey Buckingham is now an independent artist — kinda crazy, huh?
Last week Buckingham played two nights in a row to sold-out audiences at B.B. King Blues Club and Grill in Manhattan. The raving reviews revealed that not only did he play his solo stuff, but he mixed in some of the music Fleetwood Mac became iconic for. One reviewer even said that the audience melted into his performance because it was not only rich in entertainment, but truly a wonderful experience.
“But as a perfect cherry on top to a perfect evening of classic rock n’ roll, Buckingham surprised many in attendance by bursting into the Fleetwood Mac super-hit, “Go Your Own Way.” The song was an instant face melter for the audience. We sang it word for word, while looking on in awe to an artist who gave us everything we wanted and then some,” he wrote.
All-in-all the man is still, and will forever be, a genius when it comes to playing and making music. A performer is a performer, but a legend is just unpredictable in their capabilities.
