It’s been a hot minute since the loud, abrasive, and completely awesome Florida quartet Hot Water Music have graced Austin with their presence. Haven’t seen the guys since SXSW, if I’m not mistaken, and that’s too long a wait! In fact, it’s been a while since they’ve even had a new album. Lead singer Chuck Ragan went the solo route in 2006, and this lucky Do512′er managed to catch his excellent Revival Tour with other rowdy punk and alt-country rockers. Meanwhile, the remaining members continued making music as The Draft. But I’m happy to declare the group is not only back together and touring, they’re making new music! And the group’s new album Exister, released earlier this year, is one of their best.
Prepare to rock with Hot Water Music Saturday, September 22 at Emo’s! The band is sure to play an excellent mix of new samplings, as well as old favorites. They’ve got quite a back catalog, but rest assured, whatever era this prolific band decides to deliver, the result will always be a beer-swigging, headbanging soundtrack perfect for a Saturday night.
Also don’t miss openers Megafauna and Austin’s own East Cameron Folkcore! Head on over to the event page and be sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter to stay up to date on details on how to win a Hot Water Music Prize Pack with tickets to the Emo’s show and our intimate Lounge Session with the band!
