You heard it right folks! The one and only Aerosmith is returning to the Frank Erwin Center with Cheap Trick for the first time in almost 15 years! They’ve also got a new album, “Music from Another Dimension!” coming out in November which is their first in 8 years.
So where pray tell have they been all this time? Well, unless you live under a rock you know that Steven Tyler was a busy bee, gracing us with his presence as a judge on American Idol. However, he has concluded his business with them and returned to what is right-the band! It always feels good to come back to your roots, after all, they’ve been together since 1970. Yet out of their entire career, Steven says “This is the best record we have ever made, without any doubt.” There’s only one way to find out and what better way to do so live in Austins own Frank Erwin Center.
Let’s also not forget the special guest, who is none other than legendary Cheap Trick! What’s not to love about this classic American rock band? Since the 70s they’ve been blending elements of pop, punk and even metal in a way that is instantly recognizable. No doubt will they blow your mind with classics like, “I Want You to Want Me,” but you may even get some camaraderie duos with ‘The Bad Boys from Boston’-Tyler & Perry. If you don’t love them enough already, Cheap Trick also wrote and performed the theme song to The Colbert Report.
The Global Warming Tour will make it’s stop in Austin on November 16th in conjunction with fan festivals planned around the FORMULA 1 UNITED STATES GRAND PRIX. Get those tickets now! There are even some very special VIP options allowing you to do a meet and greet with Cheap Trick. Don’t miss out on this legendary experience to see America’s greatest classic rock bands play together live!
