Marc Broussard is no stranger to music born on the Bayou. His father is the legendary Louisiana blues guitarist Ted Broussard. But rather than pick up a guitar and mimic his dad’s signature licks, Marc has gone the route of a successful soul man, mixing R&B, funk, rock, pop, and other elements and perfecting a style of his own – Bayou Soul.
One of the hardest working musicians ever in pretty much any genre, Marc’s working on a new album for early release next year, as well as continuing his trek of nonstop touring. All this hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed – Marc’s an Adult Top 40 charting artist with a legion of diehard fans. But probably the key piece of a Marc Broussard show is that voice. Broussard’s Cajun-trained belting has brought many a pretty lady in the audience to her knees in tears, as this southern-fried soul boy channels all the right elements from Otis Redding and John Hiatt. And I hear he plays a mean harmonica, too!
This Monday the 5th of November, Mr. Broussard wants to croon for you. He’s bringing his talented entourage to the Parish for an evening of Louisiana bred musical hospitality. Also performing will be the passionate Gabriel Kelley and the beautiful Rebecca Butler.
So after your crazy, loud weekend at the Shores, this will be a nice Monday night primer back to the grind. Some talented musicians singing and dancing their hearts out! A little bit of soul, a bit of dancing, and a lot of hand-clapping are sure to be the ingredients for an amazing Monday night after Fun Fun Fun Fest. Don’t miss it!
