If you went to Formula 1, you might recognize the Tower Amphitheater. For those of you who didn’t go to Formula 1, the Tower Amphitheater is located in the center of the Circuit of the Americas race track underneath the iconic 220 foot tall observation tower. According to CultureMap COTA has declared this venue the largest in permanent stage in Austin, with a roughly 15,000 person capacity. Not only is it the largest venue in town, but it’s also the one of the newest.

When Formula 1 came to Austin COTA declared the circuits would be a 365 day destination, instead of just a destination for Formula 1. This concert shows that the circuits are going to be used more than just for race car driving. Who better to kick-off a new concert venue than country superstar Kenny Chesney?

In today’s world it’s hard for musicians to completely fill up amphitheaters. Chesney is “the biggest ticket seller in country music” according to Billboard, selling over 30 millions albums. Chesney will be performing at the Tower Amphitheater as part of his 2013 “No Shoes Nation” tour. This tour stops in 46 cities, with Austin being one of them. If your ready for a show that’s guaranteed to knock your cowboy boots off, we suggest you go to this one.

Okay so to recap: Kenny Chesney, country music super star, will be the first performer at the new Tower Amphitheater.  This is all going down on April 5th, but tickets go on sale January 26th at 10 am CST.
