Wednesday, September 25:

Recently named a “dubstep god” by Rolling Stone, 12th Planet AKA John Dadzie is a major player in the evolution of electronic music. 12th Planet’s DJ sets include a myriad of styles and are best dubbed “a trip to the 12th Planet and back.” This is a launch party for the brand new #LGG2 smartphone.

The 50+ year-old Carousel Lounge is hosting a free Belgian hoedown with a variety of artists. If you’ve been meaning to check out this circus-themed watering hole, this is the time to do it. You can bring your own bottle (set-ups are available.)


Friday, September 27:

Indio Beer and VICE are throwing the first of many free with RSVP parties at Pine Street Station (1101 E. 5th St.) Friday night’s entertainment includes Chorizo Funk (Peligrosa), Los Skarnales, Mexicans with Guns, and an artist workshop with Federico Archuleta. See more details and RSVP HERE.

Enjoy some music under the stars on Rainey St. Local music biographers Side One Track One are presenting a free show at The Blackheart with a few of their current favorite local bands. There will also be a set from Alabama’s Banditos.


Saturday, September 28:

The bi-annual Pecan Street Festival will take place on Saturday, September 28th and Sunday, September 29th. Spanning 24 blocks of downtown Austin, the event features art, live music, food vendors, street performers and more.

The North Door hosts another free night of local talent presented by The Good Music Club. The live taping will feature Equals, The Sour Notes and Little Brave.

Raw Paw, Wonder Space, and Exploded Drawing are bringing together over forty creative local artists under one roof. Performance installments, potters and jewelry makers, sweet electronic jams, plus free drinks provided by Shiner Beer and Juice Land. You have to be a member of The Museum of Human Achievement, so become a member here.

Metaxa is sponsoring these Saturday afternoon parties at the Yellow Jacket Social Club. The entertainment is free, the food is delicious, and Metaxa hooks up different weekly drink specials and giveaways. This week’s band is The Avocados, a good-timing, Dick Dale-loving surf rock band from Austin.


Sunday, September 29:

It’s Oktoberfest time. If you’re going to be drinking a beer anyway, you might as well have some free brats while you’re at it. Brew Exchange will be serving FREE Brats at 4:00pm and filling steins of beer all day with multiple Oktoberfest beers on tap.


Wednesday, October 2:

Master Pancake, Austin’s Best Comedy Troupe, takes on “Top Gun” live at Austin Sound & Cinema. There will also be an ’80s music video sing-along from “Airwave 80s”, food trucks and more.
