Jimmy Stewart
Bio: Jimmy is a jolly, portly fellow with a taste for frozen, girly drinks and thai food. He is greatly loved by his peers, mostly because he gives them soup… and he makes a mean soup. Any kind of soup, broth, stew, porridge, bisque or chowder…you name it. He and his buddy Scott decided to start Do512 after a few drinks back in 2006, and that’s where the magic began. And whatnot.
Kristin Owen
Bio: Kristin Owen is awesome. If you don’t agree, she’ll likely tell you to “suck it”. She’s been with Do512 almost since the beginning, when she bought them a 6-pack in ’08. While some at Do512 call her the “fun police”, she likes to think of herself more as Mama Bear, doing the things and stuff that keep the engine running. The past three years have been a wild ride and she’s looking forward to serving you up more and more Austin goodness. Party Balls.
Lawrence Boone
Bio: Covert Curiosity is one of the oldest music blogs in town. Lawrence started it in 2006 after seeing Ghostland Observatory and White Denim play a show together at Trophy’s, and wondered why no one was there. The blog features all sorts of music and coverage of local shows. Lawrence has been blogging, promoting, and partying with Do512 since 2007.
Rachel Daily
Bio: Rachel lives by three rules: Never spend more than $10.00 on any one item that you wear (she keeps her receipts…go ahead, challenge her), you are never wasting time if fun people, the state of Texas, and good music are involved and most problems can easily be solved with a solid dance-off. She’s a fashion blogging enthusiast and reads far more senseless information than any person really should. Content manager and marketing gal for Do512 keeps her pretty busy but if she’s not in the office she is likely exploring a random place with shiny objects and attempting to keep her trusty Scottie pup, Zooey, out of trouble.
Amanda Shaftel
Bio: Amanda has an insatiable appetite for good live music and will talk about it incessantly until someone shoves a breakfast taco in her mouth. She likes those. She’ll most likely be the wildest dancer at the show, 10th row, center, so guard your drink from her unpredictable extremities (you’ve been warned). She also likes biking around, whiskey, festivals and other coolness. She does not appreciate arrogance. And she writes and stuff for Do512.
Daphne Lehmen
Daphne’s interests: having the most fun all the time! Also: good books, road trips, live music and a well-placed Arrested Development reference. Disinterests: conservative anything. She loves Austin as much as her native Boston, but certainly not more than she loves cheese… in fact, sometimes she worries that she’ll never love another human being as much as she loves cheese. But who can blame her, right? Unless there’s really good pie involved.
Matt Bradshaw
Bio: Matt Bradshaw was born on the internet. He quickly learned the ways of the world through is education at Wikipedia University. He left his facebook family and friends to work in the great Do512 mines, digging for precious upcoming events to tell people about. You’ll find him at any of the Soul Dance parties in town, including the ones he DJ’s under the moniker Stereo Stepdad.
Allie Murphy
Allie is a UT student studying Public Relations by day and a bitchin’ Do512 intern by night. Instead of doing this thing called “studying” that people keep talking about, Allie prefers Facebook creeping, recreating recipes from Food Network, drinking Mexican Martinis at Trudy’s, watching movies at Alamo Drafthouse, jamming out to awesome movie soundtracks, writing for Do512 (duh) and generally just hanging out. Basically…she’s pretty cool. On weekends you’re likely to find her cruising around Austin trying to find a rad new place to eat or downtown getting her groove on. She’s also a HUGE Harry Potter fan…so don’t diss it…or she WILL Avada Kedavra your ass.
Bio: Jordan writes a lot of things, very few of them noteworthy or important. On paper, he attends UT, but he much prefers watching and making movies to sitting in lecture halls. Despite living in Wisconsin for all of two years, Jordan is a die-hard fan of various Wisconsin-y things, including beer, cheese, the Packers, and nontraditional body images. He joined Do512 in May of 2011 and has been trying to sneak Lord of the Rings references into blog posts ever since.
Bio: Bobby is an Austin native, which he knows is weird. Having graduated college, he spends his days trolling music blogs, applying to “jobs”, and perfecting his vast arsenal of impressions and stupid voices. He’s currently working on new social media stuff for Do512, and even manages to tone down the snark long enough to crank out a postable blog post now and again. You’re likely to find him crate digging at End of An Ear, or actually digging out in a field somewhere. You never know.
Jamie Jett
Bio: Jamie Jett totally digs camping, riding four-wheelers and drinking delicious beer while making new friends. She doesn’t like anything, but she loves everything, especially writing for the do512blog. She can cook a beast of a meal that is both delicious and high in nutrients. Her list of habits and vices is a long one that includes cigarettes, booze, caffeine, and geeking out online looking at other people’s awesomeness and getting insanely jealous. Her 6-year-old son thinks she laughs too much and that she’s weird, but he is 6 and lacks logic: “My mama, like, she hates the color pink and that’s weird cuz she’s a girl…that’s weird,” see? What kind of a basis is that?
Faith Jaschke
Bio: Faith is a hopeless comedienne who searches to find humor in every situation. She dislikes taking life too seriously and people who don’t like cats. She loves karaoke and dancing even though she’s not very good at either. Her theme song is Girl’s Just Wanna Have Fun and she tries to live by this motto.
Devon Joyce
Bio: Devon is both a brand new Austinite and Texan although many would assume she was born into it. Hailing from Northampton, MA by way of Las Vegas, NV she’s the youngest Do512 intern. She’s one of those creeps that talks to strangers’ babies and greets every canine that crosses her path. Devon is never without her MacBook or her iPhone at the least and although her mother is from England she makes an utter fool of herself whenever attempting to imitate her mother’s accent. She has a deep affection for cowboy boots and frozen yogurt. Devon spends her days avoiding homework by trying to play the mandolin and Skyping her dog.
Ashley Gregg
Ashley can be found sauntering around New York City enjoying the overabundance of music venues. She has red hair as fiery as her passion for good music, enjoys a classy drink of Bailey’s on the rocks and knows that it’s as embarrassing as it sounds, and consistently talks of her glory days as a native of Austin. When she’s not at concerts or over-sending music emails to friends, she can be found blogging her thoughts on bands and festivals on Do512.
