You can call him Jim or Honeypot or Bob Schneider: a staple in the Austin music scene. His dark, ever elusive persona drives the ladies crazy, and intrigues music connoisseurs worldwide. He cares nothing about faym, as he spells it, but pursues all forms of art with a haunting passion that exudes from his work. With a rolodex of literally thousands of songs, a slew of bands (Ugly Americans, The Scabs, and Lonelyland), and endless amounts of unfiltered artwork, you never know what, or who, might transpire in a live performance.
Antone’s is quite possibly one of the best places to experience all that is the infamous, Bob Schneider. In the spirit of All Hallow’s Eve, on Thursday there will be a Halloween party with a much anticipated costume contest. It is strongly encouraged to dress up as a character from a Bob Schneider song. Might I make some suggestions?
- 40 Dogs & Cigarettes
- The Hulk
- Big Blue Sea
- The World Exploded into Love
This is the Bob Schneider FANtasy: to see a venue filled with a visual smorgasbord of your favorite songs. Get creative and your best efforts might be rewarded with a VIP table for 4 during the show, autographed CDs and a limited edition poster. Winning.
Although you never know what to expect from a Bob (we’re on a first name basis) show, Halloween is sure to extract the ominous, darker side of his work like the song “Murder”, which often calls for red stage lights and a looming evil laugh.
It’s not Halloween without treats, and we have 10 pairs of tickets to give away!
