Countdown to Austin Reggae Festival

Festival season has arrived.  Thankfully we don’t have to buy any plane tickets to attend the Austin Reggae Festival that will take place next weekend at Auditorium Shores.  This year Reggae fest has some killer headliners set to play including Collie Buddz, Rootz Underground, Cas Haley, Dubtronic Kru, Tidal Waves, New Kingston and Grupo Fantasma.  In addition to the music, Austin Reggae fest would be incomplete without their international market place with unique collections of arts and crafts and tasty food from around the world.

Purchase your tickets in advance for the festival online.  Single day passes are $15 and $35 for a 3 day pass.  Sunday single day tickets are being offered as a two for one admission.  This deal will also be applicable for single tickets purchased Sunday at the gates for $20.  Don’t forget that this deal is only valid if the person is right there with you in line.  So buy a single ticket, link arms with a friend, and you can enter as one.

Join in the power of giving by attending this phenomenal festival because all proceeds from the event go straight to the Capital Area Food Bank. In 2011 the festival raised over $200,000 for needy families in Central Texas.  So if you are a reggae enthusiast put on your favorite shorts and sunnies and head down to Auditorium shores for some good music and support the cause.

2nd Annual CharityBash Masquerade Ball Benefiting Capital Area Food Bank @ The Texas Federation of Women’s Club Mansion 2/18

We know the weather recently here in Austin hasn’t necessarily screamed winter, but what better way to get back into the spirit of the season than to attend a winter wonderland themed event. Bummed about not being able to hit New Orleans up for Mardi Gras? Well, you could always celebrate it here by going to a masquerade ball. But where ever can you find such festivities? Don’t fret — Citizen Generation is hosting their 2nd annual CharityBash this weekend and it is not only winter wonderland themed, but it is a masquerade ball as well!

The best part about the event is that all the proceeds will benefit the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas. With their mission “to nourish hungry people and lead the community in ending hunger,” the charity supplies food and grocery products to over 300 partner agencies all around Texas in order to feed those in need. So if you are searching for a way to give back to your community and have fun at the same time, this bash will be perfect for you.

Awesome food and entertainment will be provided throughout the night as well as an open bar. And who can say no to an open bar? Tickets are $100 and as they are no longer available for purchase online, you can buy them at the door on the night of the event or click “I like it” here for a chance to win one of two pairs of free tickets. So join us this Saturday, February 18, at The Texas Federation of Women’s Club Mansion for a night of dancing, socializing, and celebrating a great cause. Don’t be late — event starts at 8.
